My first original movie poster ever (unlike my other TB mock-ups). The poster is basically a collage/blend/photomanip. I tried to give it a grungy/violent look without losing a slightly romantic aesthetic. I think the final outcome is a warm but mysterious vintage feeling. It was just fun to make.

Made with Photoshop 7.0.

I love it but it's a strange piece. Not in a bad way though. Strange as in it gives me an alternate reality feeling to it.

It's very early 30's or 40's golden age of cinema feel but yet with the modern day technique's it also gives a futuristic theme.

If you have ever played Bioshock they have a similar theme and in a way the Tim Burton Batman films. I really like the melding of worlds you accomplished.

Thanks so much frostdusk I always value your opinion! So anyway...I made it for this contest about a 20's flapper and guy on the run during the st. valentine's day massacre in chicago. I didn't have too much to go on as far as info because I don't think it's been completely filmed yet so I just used my imagination. Here's the contest link:[link] I've never made a collage like that so I thought it turned pretty well as a virgin try. I haven't played bioshock because I am technologically inept at video games but I'll google it.
Ps. Speaking of being technologically inept...what of computer drawing pad do you use? I am super sick of using my mouse on everything. :)

I use Wacom's Intuo's 4. :thumb128212872:
They come in different sizes for different prices but I have a medium (about $400)

Since your first starting out I would recommend getting the Wacom Bamboo :thumb126964327:

There are LOTS of professionals who still use just a bamboo. The only major difference is the pressure sensitivity. The Intuos has much more.

I myself will be upgrading this next income tax season though to the Cintiq. I'm still contemplating the 12wx [link] or the 21ux [link]

As you can see you draw directly on the screen. The 12wx is $1000 and has a 12 inch screen. The 21ux is a lovely 21 inches but is $2000 though. But it is a thing of beauty.
